and from 1993 to 1994 for Toros Neza. He played for CF Acapulco from 1994 to 1995 and finished his playing career for Atlante F.C. from 1995 to 1996. Negrete also represented Mexico in international competition from 1981 to 1990. He played in the 1986 FIFA World Cup where he had one of the most spectacular goals in World Cup history. After retiring Negrete coached the UNAM Pumas youth teams and became an assistant coach at Club Leon. He has managed for Atlante Neza and Club Leon.
