Ramon finished his career for Chivas USA appearing in 31 games from 2005 to 2007 and scored 2 goals. He was also the captain of Chivas. Ramirez also represented Mexico in international competition from 1991 to 2000. He had 121 caps and scored 15 goals. He also won a FIFA Confederations Cup in 1999 for Mexico. He was believed to have the potential to be one the best Mexican soccer players but was hampered for various injuries and never moved to Europe to play more competitive soccer.
