In 2011 he was selected to the PFWA All-Rookie Team and was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month. Kerrigan made the Pro Bowl in 2012 and was ranked #78 on the Top 100 Players of 2015 list. In 2011 he signed a four year deal with Washington for $8.72 million. In 2014 Kerrigan signed a one year deal for $7 million, and in 2015 he signed a five year deal worth $57.5 million.
